Failure also happens sometimes on Raid Missions. I just launched a raid from West Coast to Japan (Home Island) and nothing happened. Either this is a bug, or the missions has been cancelled for some other reason (a die rool depending on the distance ?) but in the last case, some message should inform the player about this.
