It's a matter of perspective. The guy asking the original question may get his answer a little quicker by posting in multiple threads. However, a post is most useful to the community at large if it can be linked to a single thread.

I prefer the second approach, because it leads to fairly reasonably organized information. The first approach leads to a mess.
