Anyway, don't throw out the old pc. Maybe you can build a small server from it? I did that with my old pc. I threw a debian linux on it. But there are easier linux distro's to work with but i happen to like Debian.
Now my mail is automatically collected, sorted, and checked for spam or virusses. It's neat!
