If that bad event gets assigned to a province with Fortune Telling units in it, then you add the FT values together, to get the percentage change to negate the bad event that was going to happen. Well, yes, that's what everybody assumed is the mechanic of fortune tellers. I've
had a look at that for finding out how Firebirds and other units like the Lady of Fortune worked and the code for random events during hosting looks like it works differently, to me. The only thing that fortune tellers do, it seems, is to redo rolling a random event if there wasn't found a valid one for the province they're in by 100 tries. What's worse, it seems that this check is wrong and that fortune tellers actually PREVENT the re-rolling of events instead of allowing it to happen. I might very well misunderstand this, though, too.
