Did you change the "Japanese" armors, and/or Spider Armor? I tried lowering their defense penalty to 0, but that felt a bit much for plate armor-equivalents.
With slash, do you mean like like this "./folder/file.tga"? It works in Windows, and if that works in Linux too I'll start using it instead of \.
