1) Don't install or change
anything to do with your installation if you do not want your secure PBEM games trashed. Finish (or abandon) your in-progress PBEM games first.
2) Alternately - install to a completely new folder, and patch up while playing your PBEM games in the old install.
IF you know exactly what you are doing and you need the new version in the meantime.
