As I've read, there will be another patch, including among its features great enhancements to CompEnhancements.txt (funny that!) - specifically, you can give a weapon mount a tech requirement, and a few other things. (Now if you could only put multiple mounts on a weapon... a Pulsed Fuel-efficient Overloaded Massive Base Mount Anti-proton beam sounds like fun to me!
