Thanks for the answers. I think I will go without a replacement for blood stones in this game. Pebble Skin Suit could be a fun item but even at E4 I'd worry about the potential for changing game balance by turning mages into trolls (though it would work nicely for my dwarves since I'll be playing Van
).
