Mostly because early panzers had side armor of 2(IIc and IIIa had 1 IIRC), actually, on a LC i had, i used PTRD/S until 42 when stalingrad was near(tigers appear in 43
), i love bazookas, they defeat tiger front
edit: are rear hull hits more deadly than side front?(disconsider armor)
