Default Re: Victorious Nations/Hall of Honor

This game is disputed by me as a legitimate victory as, when confronted with an equal opponent, instead of fighting for supremacy as would be right, he had his friends explicitly throw the game. Easily defensible VP's were abandoned to wraithlord's small force; Aristander, in fact, along with Wraithlord, even cast crumble on his own Capital in order to make the walls tumble and the previously evacuated VP fall. Thus, the "win" proves nothing, other than the extent to which some players will go in order to advance their HoF. How does this action merit displacing Calmon in the standings?

One needs to ask what the point of a a Roll of Honour is - is it to commend outstanding play? is it to determine the relative propensity of a nation to win? Neither of these are met by Wraithlord's low actions.

It certainly was technically a victory, as the game threw up the message.

Wraithlord was in full collusion in having the game thrown, which has not been denied. There are good reasons why such actions are considered illegitimate in all competitive endeavours; although it is also clear that there is a broad diplomatic grey area in Dominions.

In the many years I have played Dominions, I have never seen the like. Is this unprecedented amongst the games included in this thread? If anyone is aware of this situation previously occuring, I would much appreciate a link to the game thread.
