The Type 70 MRL was a SP rocket launcher based upon a YW 531 (Type 63) APC chassis. It was assigned to rocket launcher units attached to the armoured and mechanized infantry divisions of the People’s Liberation Army. It had a crew of six (rather than two) and carried 39 rockets (rather than 19).

Type 70 MRLs are thought to have been replaced by the Type 85 MRL system (units 543 and 565). The Type 85 is available as both an on-map and off map unit (unit 565). Perhaps the Type 70 could also be reviewed as a possible O/M unit as well.
