That sounds like a R'yleh map icon issue to me. Have you checked to see if you have the "standards and streamers" and/or "llamabanners" mods installed on your laptop? Or indeed all the mods for this specific game that could have changed the default R'yleh icon?
If all else fails, then perhaps just copy the entire contents of your Dominions folder at work onto your laptop. Dominions is not a harddrive hungry game, so it should easily fit onto a 1GB USB stick.
But either way don't suffer with this problem, as it should be an easy enough thing to solve with a little feedback and help (from any of the many helpful souls on these forums
