Fantasy is so vast and you want single recommendations? Huh, tough one.
My favourite fantasy is "The Amber Chronicles" by Roger Zelazny, try that one.
Terry Pratchett is also great, surely different.
From Glen Cook I liked Chronicles of Dread Empire more than Black Company.
