Default Re: Spike ATGM

Re-quoting the sources from my post about IFVs.

http://www.army-guide.com/eng/product1018.html
http://www.mfaromania.ro/ows.htm (bottom-right of the web page a tiny UK flag if the page mistakenly appears in romanian)
http://tpb.traderom.ro/expozitii/dom...FA/MLI84_M.htm

1) Ran across that myself.

The way I understand it, it's only the OWS-25R station /w 25mm KBA Oerlikon A/C that has 200 rounds ready to fire, dual-fed, 60 AP + 140 HE typically.

Within the MLI-84M itself there are 450 extra rounds at least according to the 1st and 3rd links.

Bottom line : a 650 round grand total of 25mm shells.

2) Notice the 3rd link is acting up, so here's a replacement :

http://rft.forter.ro/2007_6/07-arm/05.htm

Online issue of the official Romanian Army Magazine, June 2007.

It's in Romanian, but seek out picture paragraph 3.3 " InstalaĊ£ie de lansare rachete antitanc " - ad literam "Installation for lanunching anti-tank missiles" ("rocket" and "missile" same word in Romanian - "racheta")

In the table : "Numar containere" - "Number of containers" = 2.

This checks out with the first two sources as well.

Bottom line : the OWS-25R station only has room for 2 x ATGM mounted, and 2 x ATGM are stowed in the vehicle.
