I did
this to get Dominions 3 on my netbook. By doing it this way, I have no start menu icons. So I pinned 'dom3' from the dominions3 folder to the start menu but when I launch Dominions 3 from the start menu I get that error. I can launch fine from the directory though.
There is also a (related?) problem with the background.
On my desktop PC there is a background. Any ideas on how to fix this?
I patched to the latest patch before running the game at all on the netbook.
