Please, rhyming verse from the Norse? What nonsense is this?

I was expecting something more like this:

Great the gall // of the goblin host
Deadly descending // on doomed Vanheim.
Their arrows aloft // blackened the air;
Their armor dim gleaming; // Their gloating echoing;
Already they thought // their foe de-throned
But bravely breaking // the brash invaders
Were the valiant Van // vanquishing their foes

... and so on.

(// represents spacing - each line is two half lines. But the forum reduces multiple spaces to a single space, so...)
