No - The command passes to the next ranking survivor, in a campaign as stated in the GG.

That is why the 5 key function is so handy !

Also - I tend to avoid those rifle coys where the cmd element is lumped together with support wpns in the same coy HQ platoon, since elimination of the cmd element then passes cmd to a slow support team. A mortar team is not particularly useful as the rifle coy HQ...

I prefer the rifle coys where support wpns are an entirely separate platoon from coy HQ. Or, I tend to attach away such lumped support wpns to other platoons, e.g. a purposely bought 4th platoon (say a sniper or a mortar section) as a support wpns element. A scout or sniper lumped into the coy HQ is not much use (command and control wise) - and so is best attached away to the lead rifle platoon, IMHO.
