yeah, I'm trying it with Bandar Log via a Yogi prophet. For other nations it might not work so well or be worthwile but for this situation it really provides some nice tactical options: fanaticism, strong anti-thug smite or word of power, and the afore-mentioned mega-banish- which actually cuts a nice swath through the undead hordes.
