He's been permanently banned. He was given an infraction for being flaming and abusive in another thread and he made it clear in no uncertain terms to two different moderators that he could not care less and that he essentially had no intention of either heeding warnings or refrain from behavior that violates the board terms of service unless he feels like it.
Given his contributions to the board and the community in the past, he was not banned outright but the issue was forwarded to the administrators. The decision to permanently ban him came from them.
We aren't pleased that things turned out this way, but it did, to everyone's loss.
