Be careful about eating sentient beings. They might be poisonous... don't want another medical emergency!
By the way, I never understood exactly what "sentient" means. I learned the word from the Star Trek episode in which Data was being judged whether he qualifies as a life form or not. (
Poor Data...
) In order for him to have the same rights as other beings, he had to be (1) intelligent, (2) self-aware, and (3) sentient. Everyone was clear that he qualified for (1) and (2) but they weren't sure about (3).
