Maerlande, a competent player, subbed in to find a total mess but with a *lot* of material advantage. Basically, there was no way a competent player could fail to win with that position, yet SecretPerson was somehow managing to not do anything with it.

So Maerlande didn't think he really deserved a win for that, and there might still have been a game if SecretPerson hadn't gone MIA since he clearly didn't know what to do with what he had. I mean, Maerlande found an S11 Chayot! And several thousand gems stockpiled! It was simply incomprehensible.
