Yeh, I would be mad and frustrated too if it happened to me!
Which is why I use Go-Back. Catch it early enough as you did, I may lose at most a few current files if I don't want to take the time or the risk of backing them up.
If I were there, I'd pay for the beer to drown your sorrows.
