What do you think of Ali G? He is having an HBO special soon. I've never heard of him, but Newsweek had article about him... and my neighbor from England absolutely raves about him. Sounds like his bit is pretty funny.

He used to be really funny before he got famous. Now he's become the thing he used to be a paradoy of.

The character was originally created/ used to wind up important people in spoof interviews. For example, he's interviewing one of the country's top military people (for real, except the interviewee doesn't know it's a wind-up) and will ask questions like:
"So, if you want to get into the army, right, does it 'elp if already killed someone? 'coz my mate Kenny, right..."

or when interviewing a very old and respected judge:
"So, when is it ok to shoot someone?"
"It's never ok to shoot someone. That's against the law"
"Yeah, but what if he calls your mum a slag?"

ANd so on...
