No. Many are long lived. You can see both the current age and old age numbers. Only a few pretenders start old. The Crone comes to mind. If they don't start old, or very close to it, you shouldn't worry about it.
Few games will last even 10 years.
You can always add Nature magic to your pretender to raise the Max age.
There are items and spells that will help as well.
