'.....and when you do things like this what else is it that needs to be checked and altered if necessary ??'

{Don, I don't quite understand what you are getting at?}

I had clearly noted:
PzB 38 . . . just 62 of these weapons were used by the german troops in the invasion of Poland 1939.
568 PzB 39 were used by the german army in the invasion of Poland.

"Therefore, the following Unit changes need to be made to reflect the Historical availability of this Wpn as Only
Special Forces (Brandenburger) and FJg would have utilized early availability PzB in Poland." With limited numbers available they just would not have been available in regular units - maybe SS though?

{Are you saying weapons should be widely available before they historically were??

*****Although, it does mean the following units also need to be adjusted,
thanks for triggering me to notice that - is that what you meant?,

and the Army would have to soldier on with the 13.2mm Mauser (Wpn #90):
**Unit #417 - Panzerbuechse - Revise End-date to 10/39.**
When PzB 770(p) 35p - Unit #601 - Panzerbuechse - becomes available.
**Unit #495 - GebJg PzBuechse - Revise End-date to 03/40.**

and the Mauser T-Gewehr (Wpn #142):
**Unit #600 - Panzerbuechse - as above, Revise End-date to 10/39.**
**Units #634 & #643 & possibly #638 - (sw) Inf Gruppe - Revise End-date to 10/39.**
When PzB 770(p) 35p - Unit #784 - InfGrp (sw) SS and noted Unit #601 - become available,
or possibly revise one of the three into an InfGrp (sw) SS if you think the SS should have PzB 38/39 ATRs and use them in Poland before 11/39. Thoughts?

If you change any units start or end date you have to ensure that change does not leave a gap in any of the formation's that use that unit which means other units start or end dates will need to be adjusted to fill that gap and those must be checked to ensure a weapon is not being used at an inappropriate time.

As well, if you alter the start or end date of a unit that matches the start or end date of a formation you have to ensure that formation(s) start or end date is adjusted otherwise you will have formations with missing units appearing in the purchase menu which is fine for some formations that have unit types that come and go as the parent formation evolves but is not so good in specialist formations that may depend on having at least one unit of that type to make it viable otherwise players will attempt to buy a formation that does not contain any units for that particular period of time.............and after all that's been done if the change is to a major formation in any radical way the internal code for the AI picklists need to be re-written.

The bottom line is, OOB work is more than just changing dates to suit whatever source you are using.

As well, micro managing by a month here or there when a weapon may or may not be available, especially something as insignificant as an AT rifle, is really a waste of time when we are dealing with 70 year old records. Are we talking about the date the first units came off the assembly line or when they went to the training depots or when they were first issued to troops or when they were first actually used in combat ? Any of those factors could make a few months difference to what any particular source says. There are still inconsistencies in modern information about well known weapons from that era so changing start and end dates by a month or two for relatively unimportant ones isn't a critical issue to game play which is why a lot of units and formations start in January in the game. Changing them to February or March does not critically impact game play and chances are some other "authority" will have slightly different information anyway. Even now you cannot find consistent information about something as basic to WW2 as the Tiger tank.
