Well it's MP and the game is going pretty well for me, so no i won't restart =p
I didn't know that regen stuff would stop the Hp loss, i was planning to do some fights with her to get some hp with regen but wasn't expecting it was so useful.
Does it prevent also new affliction?

Actually he has been pretty lucky but also smart. He has cast some nasty toads (don't know the spell name) the turn after my pretender showed up in my cap. Almost no troops have been diseased but my pretender has been hit !!
