Easy research sounds good, since we'll have to adapt research goals on the fly. Small map is probably ideal because I can see someone getting lucky with recruitment sights and just steamrolling everyone anyway. I just started a test game and the first province I took allowed me to recruit Bogarus' cap only mages.
