Re: Armour values
If my memory is correct, one point of armour value in SP is equivalent to roughly 10 mm of real world (rolled homogenous) armour at right angle.
However, you cannot directly reverse engineer the real world armour thickness from this, since the armour values are based not only on the thickness of the armour, but also the angle of the armour.
Similarly, if you are wanting to introduce new units to the game, then you need to into account not only the armour thickness but also the angle of the armour. Weapons are more straightforward.
