It definitely feels like taking a SC pretender is optimal since earlyl expansion is so important to establishing your troop and magic diversity. However, I feel like there are other viable strategies and I was looking forward to trying one out. It's difficult to handle a rush from a SC with all mages having one path, though. I guess we will just see what happens.
