You will have to install it and then patch up all over again to the latest version, since we do not as yet have a consolidated patch.

It should not overwrite your saved games. However, its best to save them off to be 100% sure - just zip up all the files in the saved games directory and put the zip somewhere safe should do the trick.

If you have any ongoing secure PBEM games ongoing then those will be toast of course!. Finish up any such before installing.
