Are you are referring to the WEAPON sound value...or the UNIT sound value...... Yes ?? No ??


As Andy said "sound 0 is the default sound for any weapon" IF the game finds zero under WEAPON sound it then looks for a sound value under UNIT weapon sound and if it finds one there it uses it but if it finds under unit weapons it uses the hard coded default weapon sound .

As explained when the latest versions of the game were released we have included a NEW "Weapon sound value" . Before this release last release we just used UNIT sound values .....and we still do..... but now weapon sound values take precedence over unitweapon sound values UNLESS the WEAPON sound value is ZERO

For what I can guess because you won't tell me where you are looking, if you are looking at the WEAPON sound value and seeing ZERO and thinking this is an error... it is NOT and error........YES Denmark has 12.7 M50 AAMG sound 0 in the WEAPONS data ( that would be weapon 55...... useful info to provide when you are looking for answers...) but the units that use the Denmark 12.7 M50 AAMG ........

I hope this is clear now becasue I am running out of ways to explain it...... we can use two places in the code to give a weapon a sound. unit weapons and now weapons...unitweapons is the place we have been adding it for years but now we have it in weapons as well and that one is the master and any number BUT ZERO will override any entry in unitweapons...... but if there is a zero in weapons sound then the game uses whatever number has been entered in the unit weapons sound field.

To simplify this further the ONLY weapons that currently have ANY number other than ZERO in the weapons sound field are hvy sniper rifles that use the new sound 30. The change was made this time around so that IN THE FUTURE I can add new sounds directly at the weapon instead if dozens of places in unitweapons so there is nothing wrong the game is operating sound correctly .......NORMAL would be finding zero in the weapons sound slot in MOBHack for this release
