I found this scenario of excellent scope requiring thoughtful battle planning. The terrain and balance of forces are consequential and required patience. Therefore, I used my vehicles in over watch positions to pound the Chinese mercilessly with suppression fires from multiple vehicles. Moreover, I left the roads immediately after plotting an approach to the Chinese positions that was clear of rough terrain and at an approach that limited the Chinese fire zones.
A few suggestions are in order:
- The Force HQ formation leaders on both sides are too high and should be no more than 2nd Lieutenants with a formation appropriate to that rank, say a Guards Platoon or something similar, rather than a battalion.
- There were no flag values, I would have liked to have Victory Flag values.
- Although, it is not required in our game, I prefer HQ units in my formations of say 3 men for a platoon and more for higher units.
Overall, the scenario an entertaining experience.
