Two aspect, and I would try playing this scenario again.
Organize most units into companies in general. You have a pure motorized battalion there, made of 9 rifle platoons instead, what complicates the commanding.
FO could be useful on that level
Finally, at least for my game, I see that river as "tramlines, frozen". Sadly, my vehicles keep getting stuck in the mud. It would be nothing wrong with it, were it not infantry cannot disembark and continue fight because height is set to -2 and I keep getting message "UNABLE TO UNLOAD HERE".
