Well, sometimes you get a "simul-post" and you see someone else's reply along with yours... it's kinda handy in that case to be taken back to the same topic. Besides, sometimes I like to answer multiple postings in the same topic with multiple postings of my own, just to avoid confusion.

I've gotten in the habit of using the "Back" dropdown list to return to the topics thread; a little more mousing, but sometimes it's faster than multiple Alt-arrows...
