Sounds like the AI needs to be programmed to add more armour to its ships if it needs to move through them....Thats what the rest of us do.......
Also, it probably needs to to be programmed to build and use repair ships. Anyone ever seen an AI player with a repair ship (ie a ship equipped with at least one repair bay)?
