With all due respect to the both of you, that is not what I said or suggested in my last post concerning the
HORNETS in
Post 509!!
From that Post
my input...
"But I just checked my papers and came across this
significant article concerning the
F/A-18 HORNET specifically the A-D series versions."
"The
F/A-18 E/F and
F/A-18G are still operational and will be for at least 10 or more years."
From
DID...
"The US Navy has
retired its fleet of Boeing F/A-18A-D Hornet combat aircraft from active service."
For perspective and as I'm tracking this closely, I give you the following...
https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-n...fighter-trials
You will note that Boeing is bringing to the competition the
F/A-18E/F.
The winner will replace the
F-5 and
F/A-18C/D (Which was the latest type the USN was flying of the "
Classic (Types A-D.)" HORNET until the 2 Oct Retirement.)
Regards,
Pat
