With all due respect to the both of you, that is not what I said or suggested in my last post concerning the HORNETS in Post 509!!

From that Post my input...
"But I just checked my papers and came across this significant article concerning the F/A-18 HORNET specifically the A-D series versions."

"The F/A-18 E/F and F/A-18G are still operational and will be for at least 10 or more years."

From DID...
"The US Navy has retired its fleet of Boeing F/A-18A-D Hornet combat aircraft from active service."

For perspective and as I'm tracking this closely, I give you the following...

You will note that Boeing is bringing to the competition the F/A-18E/F.

The winner will replace the F-5 and F/A-18C/D (Which was the latest type the USN was flying of the "Classic (Types A-D.)" HORNET until the 2 Oct Retirement.)
