A couple of things before I get "
beat up" I have to bring up Jake here as he served in the
BRADLEY for so many years so in an "encapsulated form" is...
1. The only reason the
M2A2 and up to the
latest version doesn't have the same
FCS as the ABRAMS is due to space limitations; however, several components are actually used and as the
electronics and miniaturization have improved we're seeing more of it filter into the
BRADLEY more i.e.,
BRADLEY BUSK as I recall was the first we got beyond
TI/GSR 40, which I believe we have at
TI/GSR 50 when submitted.
2. We need to
ADD it to the
USA OOB as well whether as a new build or modify an existing unit as I already mentioned. The numbers don't lie as to how make up our
current operational units.
3. We already have AT versions, and the refs suggest the
M2A2 only carried to include the following
3 TOW and
2 JAVILAN ATGW's onboard.
4. Since this came up work here had stopped because of a couple of tank issues with South Korea I've started to include a
K2 export version. The article I recently posted on
DU export restrictions talks of other "
home country" non-DU armor applications.
But I'm sure most stopped reading it after the DU part of the article was finished. Going back to
K2 their
composite armor package is
classified per just about all the refs I have currently.
5. Here is where I'm at for the build I was attempting to get done
I looked at the M2A1, M2A2, M2A2 ODAS-E and M2A3.
We needed for the
USA and Ukraine one that can fight during
Maneuver Operations which means having
sufficient troops on board so...
CARRY 6 I'm dubious of the
CARRY 7 I've seen in a couple of refs.
WEAPON TOW 2B 6/or *8* (I can see *8* as ODAS-E UNIT 686 has CARRY 4/WEAPON TOW 2B 12)
FC 25 or 30either works here easily enough, this is the
JAKE/ABRAMS factor here.
We
profess having equipment that are fully protected in the game, so with that in mind, sadly that was
my stopping point. The numbers.
HOWEVER, M2A2 with
full armor package it has
PROTECTION against
RPG's and 30mm AP ALL AROUND and the refs pretty much concur with this evaluation.
SURVIBILTY LEAVE SAME UNLESS ABOVE PROTECTION ALLOWS FOR INCREASE TO
5. CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG (I STILL LIKE TO THINK I CAN LEARN OUT HERE.), BUT I BELIEVE A
5 MIGHT BE "
BORDERLINE" HERE
?

Pat
