Fallout Re: Panama

Well interesting and this makes one less for me to submit such as I did famously with New Zealand (Awake.) and the Philippines (Very tired and late.) not 2 weeks back.

I think I did see a Grenada one in there many years ago.

But I'm here to help for anyone that as Don has suggested wants to pull together a scenario of "Operation Just Cause".

The below gives an account from U.S. Army Special Operations Forces (ARSOF) in Panama from the ARSOF history department.

The document section has the Army operations overview. OOB for BOTH sides etc. and maybe best of all the Maps used for mission planning. Also, along with Iraq would be the last conflict the M551 Sheridan would fight in and was the only tank in combat that I'm aware in that conflict on our side.

You'll find a picture in the FB-Patch Thread where I submitted some changes for the tank that would get entered also submitted for information was a picture of an AC-130 HERCULES dropping one out the cargo ramp at just above the ground. That picture was taken during Operation Just Cause. It's a GREAT shot. Anyway, here's the site...

Concerning the MAP section be SURE to scroll down for unseen Recon photos UNDER the Maps, Also, some maps by themselves you should the same as the Legends are there I.E. DAVID is a prime example where it shows the contours at 20m plus compass orientation etc. Maps and Photos all have GREAT resolution.

For bigger picture general info, the following but first...

"He remained there until he surrendered on January 3, 1990, having succumbed to a sonic assault by U.S. forces who blasted rock music nonstop at deafening levels at Noriega’s sanctuary (among the recordings that were played were “I Fought the Law” by the Clash, “Panama” by Van Halen, “All I Want Is You” by U2, and “If I Had a Rocket Launcher” by Bruce Cockburn). Noriega was then transported to Miami, Florida, where he was tried, convicted of a raft of charges, and sentenced to a U.S. prison."

That's a pretty good play list there!!

EDITED @ 0106: I went to the scenario section myself "line item by line item" looking for Panama and by proximity, Operation Just Cause (OJC) or similar and finally by dates. The dates where "shot gunned around" those for OJC and close but that's all I found. So, in short no Panama.

Regards,
Pat
