Phoenix-D has brought up a very good point. There may be some disagreements on whether something is given an acronym. If the general consensus is that it doesn't, we can just remove it.
He also points out (with justification) that the same acronym can apply to two different names.
Even so, I would suggest it is still an immeasureable help to the newbie who should be able to decide to which one it applicable to (as Phoenix-D suggests from the context).
