What is your favourite weapon? (WW2 only)
Hi! I was just wandering, what weapon would be your choice...
My favourite weapon is Sturmgewehr44. I think it has a fantastic look and sounds nice. It was the father of all assault rifles. I guess the German technology was far more ahead then the allies.

Re: What is your favourite weapon? (WW2 only)
This is not a relevant post for this forum. Had the question been related to a weapon used in the game as it is used in the game it would be relevant. This is not.

You mean, I can only talk about the game in this forum? Stg44 is included in the game... I saw it.

If you want to discuss the in-game stats for the particular weapon, then do so in the appropriate forum. (TO&E).
If you simply want to have a rambling discussion on "gun porn", about the "kewlest assault rifle" then there are other gun-related forums out there on the net.
If you wanted a discussion on say "Is it worth losing 2 hexes of max rifle range over the Kar98 to take a Stg44 squad?" then that would be relevant to the game data. TO&E section probably still, or the AARs (which is an OK forum for discussing tactics and techniques too).
This is the main game forum, for discussion of the game system, or bugs with its code (Database errors are not code - TO&E for that), and wishes for the future, general admin etc.

My favorite weapon, or rather, weapon system is this guy:
Because when tin can flankers attack your arty park, you don't have to worry about them, THEY HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT YOU!
Heck, if you want - you can even take them out for a spin on the front lines, they shrug off 75mm rounds like it was nothing.

For me it is not worth losing 2 hexes of max range for more effective close quarters combat. I like the standard bolt-action rifle because it fits my tactics of engaging the enemy as far away as possible. If I do go have to go close quarters the stats for the bolts aren't a deal breaker.

Lee Enfield .303 rifle. Best thing going since the Plezier Mauser. Makes the Jerries keep their heads down till the Gurkhas can go to work with their kukris.

So do you guys prefer the 8 hex automatic rifle or the 10 hex bolt?

Err prety much yes its a forum hosted by a game company giving YOU direct access to the games designers & other players.

I'm just theoritical... But why we need the playtests?

You asked
Quote:
Does anybody know someone, who could make a campaign called "The siege of Budapest"?
|
like any game it will need playtesting for balance, if its to easy or hard you will moan its no fun. Also due to the mechanics of the game it needs a lot of testing to check things work roughly as expected.
It is an enormous project needing research then to be transfered to the game. This is not easy I know as started one & the time it takes is immense, DD said a couple of years if I manage mine in 5 it will surprise me.
If what you wanted was a map then ask if anyone has one or is considering doing one, if not do one yourself there are threads with help on making maps to scale.
I would play with the map editor for a while first though if you have not used it.

Theoretically it could have been manufactured after the ending of hostilities, I don't know when the StG 44 production ceased. However, The design it-self dates to before the wars end.
