Re: NEWS: MT. St Helens just erupted
I just read reports of ash clouds 25,000 feet high!

Re: NEWS: MT. St Helens just erupted
From what I can tell its a low level eruption between 5k to 20k. Hard to tell from here. But interesting none the less. Its getting hard to see now through the trees. I will have to drive drown the road to see the full moutain.
No danger for us. We live about 50 miles to the south west of the mt in Vancouver / Richfield area.

Re: NEWS: MT. St Helens just erupted
Quit impressive to look at, is it not. I am probably closer to it than you are Atrocities. The mountain is due east of here.
EDIT: Got my directions messed up.

It's not an eruption, but an emission.

Yep, I'm in Washington, but all I ever hear about is Portland and Oregon. I just listen to the radio usually. They get the news out faster. Usually hear something on the radio a day or two before the TV news has anything to say about it.

Re: NEWS: MT. St Helens just erupted
When I saw this post first I thought:
Oh Christ. Not again.
in response to the 1980? eruption where the entire peak of MSH was completely annihilated.
I suppose the mountain's calmed down by now.....?

Re: NEWS: MT. St Helens just erupted
Do you have to worry about the ash getting into your computer and gumming up the works?
