OT- Best Snack Donut
Tim Horton's blueberry fritter is IMO the most addictive donut going. If you have not tried one and a Tim's is near by go get one.
I had relatives visiting CAN from Ireland and their addicted to the suckers.
Think apple fritter but blueberries and filled like a jelly donut if you do not know what one is.
So one vote for this snack

Re: OT- Best Snack Donut
Tesco,
Your right about the blueberries, but it is the blueberry muffins that are the best.
Is a fritter really a donut? I thought it was something else.
IMHO the boston creme doughnut is their best doughtnut.
I recently heard that the fruit explosion muffin is by far their biggest seller.

Re: OT- Best Snack Donut
Make it two votes for a Timy's Boston creme donut. Messy though.

LITTLE CHOCOLATE DONUTS!
quote: [ open to John Belushi preparing to do the Olympic high jump ]
Announcer: John Belushi is on his way to a gold medal in the Decathlon! They're setting the bar at seven feet - here's his approach..
[ John Belushi runs toward the bar. Quick cut to John jumping over the top of the bar. Quick cut to John landing on the grass. ]
Announcer: He got it! Belushi's won the gold, now he's going for the world's record!
[ cut to John Belushi running long-distance sprint and winning, as his fans crowd around him ]
[ cut to John at home ]
John Belushi: [ seated at breakfast table smoking a cigarette ] I logged a lot of miles training for that day. And I downed a lot of doughnuts. Little Chocolate Donuts. They taste good, and they've got the sugar I need to get me going in the morning. That's why Little Chocolate Donuts have been on my training table since I was a kid.
[ cut to John Belushi going for the gold in the javelin toss ]
Announcer: Little Chocolate Donuts. The donuts of champions.

Re: OT- Best Snack Donut
Two words: Krispy Kreme!
If there's a Krispy Kreme near you, go stop in when they've got the "Hot Dounghnuts Now" sign lit up. After you get heady from the overpoweringly sweet odor of doughnuts baking and glave being poured over top of 'em, and after you pause for a moment to watch the doughnut-making magic in process, order yourself a couple of Original Glazed doughnuts and some milk (or coffee). They're wonderful anytime, but a little slice of heaven when their still warm, right out of the frier.
I read somewhere that when Krispy Kreme opened a store in New York, people were lined up around the block to get Hot Doughnuts Now!
Man, I wish I bought their stock when they went public....
Quikngruvn-- now I need a doughnut fix!

Re: OT- Best Snack Donut
KK? bleah. I rembember the hype and the lines when they came to the bay area, but when it comes down to it they are just regular dounghnuts that are glazed over with that hard shell sugary glaze stuff, and the ones that would normally be glazed look like they are dipped in resin or something. they just smother the poor things in sugar. the best dounghnuts usually come from small places where, if they are part of a chain, you cant really trust one location from another. its sort of a neighborhood thing, and an acquired feel for hunting the best shop down.
but back to the subject of the thread, which is the 'snack' variety of said consumeable. I tend to define 'snack' is something to casually munch on while doing other things. used in verb form, 'to snack.' for this definition, I have to side with Geo, the small chocolate ones are the best. of course, if you are using the noun form as a filler between meals: 'a snack,' then the rest of the discussion is entirely valid as well.
