OT: Need some internet search help.
Well maybe this isn't off topic since it is for the SFTC. Anyway how many employees work at a large shipping port such as the Port of Singapore? I have given up the ghost finding that info and want to move on to another search. Can one of you with good search knowledge find a number for me? I have tried several ports and several government websites. In fact I think the Chinese secret service is knocking on my door right now. If I don't make it back know that I loved you all! Well maybe everyone but you Fyron.

Re: OT: Need some internet search help.
According to Wikipedia, in 2000 Singapore had a labor force of 2.2 million.
(The search string that I found this with was "port employment Singapore".)

Re: OT: Need some internet search help.
Those are the only two numbers I could come up for Singapore. Feel free to us any major port in the world. The problem with those two numbers is that they don't reflect only the employees for the government at the port. Once again feel free to use any port in the world so long as it is a major one; not my local marina at Canyon Lake.

Re: OT: Need some internet search help.
I found this. It's from the port of Antwerp 2004 report.
In 2003 the port provided direct employment for 62,276 people. Hope it helps. web page
And this from Rotterdam web page

Re: OT: Need some internet search help.
According to the CIA World Factbook, in 2006, 11% of Singapore's 2.4 million workers were in "transportation and communications", which comes to 264,000. So there's a third number to work with.
