range Check/sum error??
Anybody else seen this?
What the heck is it?
This is only the game I see this particular error?

I've only seen one: a range error when trying to load some pre-patch races in a post-patch game (I imagine that my heavily unbalanced race values are now impossible to achieve since the patch, and thus the error). Others have encountered it elsewhere during play, though. AFAIK Malfador is working on these. If you have a savegame where one is repeatable, you might email it to them (support@malfador.com).

FWIW, the patch cleared up all the occasional appearance of this error for me. Have you tried upgrading?

I have the patch and I just got my first Range Check error. The only thing I did new was turn on show movement path in the game options menu. With this off I never got this error. If you leave this option off it will help.
Edit> I lied, I get a Range Check error now everytime I try to move!!!!!!. Unistalled and reinstalled 2 times now. Even tried it pre patch no luck. Played two complete games both patched and not patched with no problems no this?????

I also have the patch and am seeing this error. This only occurs for me when I am using a previously saved race and I am accessing the 'Units' menu.

There's a bug that causes the range error sometimes when ship movement lines are turned on. I reported it to Malfador pre-patch, but it's still there in 1.11. I'd recommend turning the movement lines off until it's fixed.
