Interesting web finds
Recently finding something interesting, and thinking that we could use a place for posting interesting things on the web, I made this thread.
http://www.livejournal.com/community/crossing_lostrp/
It's a Lost (tv show; only seen a little) crossover/multiple author story. See, each author contributes up to three characters from other fictional universes...Completly serious, not a spoof. Shaping up very well, with good writting all around.

Re: Interesting web finds
The virus game is very addictive. I too have never made it past level eight but I keep going back to try again. There must be some sort of subliminal hypnotic message in the music.........................

Re: Interesting web finds
I tried the virus game. Fun! The first couple of times I started I died immediately because I didn't understand what I'm supposed to do. I think I infected a cell that was too close to the bottom of the screen and then it dropped off the edge. Then the third game I "went out of time" at level 5. I'll have to try again!

Re: Interesting web finds
Try this other one by the same guy called QuarRkZ {clicky}. A pretty fun game against the computer, and you can play head to head, even with small kids.

Re: Interesting web finds
Thanks! That Quark game is fun too. I find that on the easy and medium difficulty levels, it's easy to beat the computer. But the hard difficulty is really hard! The computer cleverly uses those explosions to win and you really have to concentrate and think ahead. So far I have always lost under the hard difficulty. Gotta keep trying.

Re: Interesting web finds
There must be, since I made it to level 14 with no problem, and then lost because apparently I didn't understand what I needed to do - it told me "you went out of time"... I thought the levels were ending because the time was running out anyway... not sure what I was supposed to do differently - I'll need to check the rules.

Re: Interesting web finds
I also made it to about 14 or so, then ran out of time

Re: Interesting web finds
You've gotta kill X number of cells before the time runs out.
The viruses are pretty lame, what with the complete inability to infect things without your direct intervention.
I have no idea why that's not one of the available upgrades, even if it were just a tiny percentage chance like the immunity.
