Georgian OOB?
As most of you know, there's war-like situation in Ossetia (northern part of Georgia) right now. So, does anyone going to make Georgian (why not Ossetian too) oob for MBT? If I don't remember wrong, Georgia have "older" tanks as (T-72, T-55) Russia have for example... Does Ossetia have any tanks etc. equipment?
edit:How about using Red oob (at least for Georgia)?

BINGO, thats what Red is for.
Seems like a waste of time to make a Georgia OOB, when you can just pick the units you want from the Red one.

Re: Georgian OOB?
Without looking too much into actual inventories, I'd say you can use the Red OOB to simulate most former Soviet republics, with captured units from Russia and Ukraine for the high-end equipment that may not be in Red.
Re. Ossetia forces, you can assume a guerilla-type force with Russian material (e.g. captured Chechen units) and allied Russian (actual OOB011) units.

Re: Georgian OOB?
Ok, if I choose Red for Georgia, what kind of equipment I should choose (expect those tanks)? And oob should present Ossetia? Russia? Red ? How I get AI to choose only "guerilla" units (not tanks)?

Re: Georgian OOB?
I would say at least at this point it would be safe to just run the scenario against the Russians. The Ossetians have about as much of a military as Abkhazia and its all pretty much donated Russian hardware. Now that the Russians are on the ground, it probably makes more sense just to run a Red v Russia scenario or vice versa.
And Skirmisher, why don't you stick to making useful posts? We all know what "Red is for." Warhero asked about its suitability to the current scenario, which PK actually spoke to. If people are looking for more, why should they have to make do with not only less, but your opinions on how much of a "waste" it is as well?

Re: Georgian OOB?
This is a game, not a realistic march through history.
My opinions can be ignored, and probably are ignored for the most part. I suggest you learn to ignore them too, if you find them unpleasant. Are you the grand PooBah or something here?

Re: Georgian OOB?
I think the point was maybe a hope someone may have such an OOB or infomation to that effect up their selve. Some people do follow such things.

Re: Georgian OOB?
Using the Red OOB as a Russian opponent should be OK for this - as that is what it was designed for. See Game Guide, Historical design Notes linky, paragraph 2 beginning "The RED OOB, prior to the break-up of the USSR..".
You should get "Former USSR" as the locations, which will do fine for this purpose.
As to what to do to make it choose "your" type of troops, if the AI pick is not what you like, and/or troops types differ too much from any intel you have.
1) Make a sub directory to the OOB folder, call it "\Georgia" perhaps, and copy the existing Red OOB there as a holder (for now).
2) Edit the Red troop types to what you think they should be, in the Red OOB you have just copied from. e.g. - if you think the Georgians should only have T5XX then eliminate any unneeded other ones. You could also play around with formation moving, as usual in OOB hacking. Don't play with the AI pick list files, unless you want to do this in a completely separate install of the game as it will mess with the normal Red one, should you swap it back!.
3) Once happy with the results, copy to your sub-folder and overwrite the place holder. You can now use the OOB Swapper to change between your custom Georgian Red OOB, and the normal default Red which is in the backup OOB folder, as needed. (But not if you played with the AI pick list files, which is why you should make a completely separate game install for any hack that hacks those).
Cheers
Andy
