OT: Tech TV

A RANT ABOUT NOTHING
Is it me, or does it seem like the shows on Tech TV are run by a bunch of really weird nerds who are in deep need of professional anti nerd help?
I mean I have seen some really dumb things in my life, but TECH TV really seems to break through the dumb *** glass ceiling on a regular basis.
They are hooky, nerdy, and down right hard to watch. When interviewing someone about something the hosts never shut up long enough for the guest to speak. They are always interrupting them and trying to show how smart they are. Ok, your smart, now sit the hell down and shut up!
These people make Trekies look sane. Don't get me wrong I enjoy a lot of what the channel has to offer, but my god the people they have hosting some of their shows are so incredibly nerdy that I cannot watch it unless I am alone.
It’s worse than trying to watch Star Trek in a house full of people who hate star trek and think you’re a loony for watching it. If they ever saw Tech TV, they would condemn me to the funny farm and take away all of my computer stuff!
Besides, they have never mentioned Space Empires IV and that really just shows how uninformed they really are.

Re: OT: Tech TV
Basically it's a small cable network run on a shoestring. To save on expenses they hire people that are so hooked on technology that they will take less pay just to get to play with all the toys. Theses are plebecites that at any other network would be working as unpaid interns getting coffee and stuff.

Re: OT: Tech TV
The problem is I reall do like the shows offered on the network, but I have to watch the channel in private or face the ridicule of others.
And I really wish Leo would shut up long enough to let some of his guest speak.

If you think that's hard to watch, have you ever seen the game show "Beat the Geeks"? Man, those people are TRULY frightning!!

Re: OT: Tech TV
I don't know if they are on a shoestring. I remember when they were ZDTV so they have staying power. I used to watch it, but they seem to go over and over things. Hey, you can write to Leo, a few years ago I asked him about something and got a reply, more likely was from an intern, but at least someone reads e-mails.
I can't remember the shows name, but Leo did a noobie hour going over questions ect... I thought he did a good job explaning things for people that had no computer exp. There were some funny questions that people asked, and really strange/scary things
Well if anything, the kids that watch that show might be better off than watching the other junk on TV...
