Shipset Opinion
I've been tinkering around with an idea for another shipset, and I just wanted some of you opinions on it. Here is the first ship that I have assembled for it (background added for eye-candy ):
It's originally from a table-top RPG I've been working on (it's nice to finally be able to put pictures to bland descriptions ). In that game, it's a "Scorpius-class Bulk Freighter," but it's most probably going to be the Large Transport ship image for the SEIV Version. Like I said, tell me what you think..the SEIV Version is still in the concept phase .

Re: Shipset Opinion
Love it.
Consider keeping the background.
(There was a large debate on this. No need to rehash it. I like eye candy.)

Re: Shipset Opinion
I like it, it has a good texture on the hull and the engines are cool. For some reason i'm intrigued to what it would look like the other way round with the engines at the back. But this looks cool

Looks good. Looking forward to seeing more. You can never have too many SEIV shipsets.

Actually, if you have the skills at modeling, you might work on the "scorpion" aspect. Bend that tail up and over a bit.
Regardless, it looks pretty good. I like "dark" ships (silver, gun-metal-grey, black, etc.) or "lively" colors.
Keep going and post some more "eye candy".

Re: Shipset Opinion
Gotta love that tight texturing. Very nice.

Hmm, that reminds me of an interesting trivia tidbit... Did you know that the starship Enterprise was originally going to have the saucer and engines on the bottom and the main hull on top, similar to the Klingon ships? Then someone flipped the model over and I guess he liked it better that way!

Re: Shipset Opinion
I like it, and I like the eye candy background . . . I think I'm gonna add backgrounds to my ships now.
Unless you want the engines faceted, you maybe could turn up the effective faces on those splines/add smoothing (assuming its splines)
Beautiful textures, btw. I always have trouble with textures myself.
