Can I see what the AI is up to?
I know it would be cheating but I am just dying to know what the AI of one of my opponent races is up to. I mean, the computer is moving fleets of 10-15 ships through my space while I struggle to support my 10 ships total within the empire. Where is it getting all the resources to build and maintain such force? Is it cheating?

Re: Can I see what the AI is up to?
Depends on the MOD: un-modded I would say that the AI expanded like crazy and got some good resource worlds. Did you give the AI bonus(s)?
to see what AI is up to: click on the menu for save/exit; click on the "players" tab; click on the AI you want to see then click end turn...

You can change an empire to be under human control by going in the Game Menu window (f2), and then Players.

Thanks for the information. For what it is worth, it is TDM mod. And I just had my head handed to me at turn 117. Do I stink or what!?

Not at all. It is possible to get into a no-win position against modded AIs with bonuses if you are unlucky with galaxy setup.

Would starting with no warp points, or not all connected warp points be a good thing?

I like to use the "not all connected" setting, and then keep regenerating maps until I get one that is naturally connected.

Re: Can I see what the AI is up to?
Ahh-hmm. I am a bit lost here. What is "naturally connected" ?
---
I dislike "not connected" for solo play - too much burden to AI. AIC mod may process it better, but still...

Re: Can I see what the AI is up to?
Naturally connected means you keep hitting the button until all the warp points are connected. It generates a map that a lot of times looks better than the forced "all warp points connected" map.
